 How I started...

Since as long as can remember I have always loved cats. I admired Persians for their elegant beauty and gorgeous full coats and as a child I dreamed of owning one someday. Little did I know then that Persians are not only gorgeous but incredibly loving and affectionate very much like dogs. I became interested in raising and Showing Persian kittens after getting my first Persian cat. I researched well known lines while looking all over the internet for Show cats that had a certain look I really liked and hoped to see in my program. Today I am proud to be working with GC, RW lines and am hoping to have a few very special Persian and Exotic kittens to show in 2008.

We added Exotic Shorthairs in 2004...the ease of grooming and their "teddy bear" look has made me extremely fond of the breed. Exotics our often known as "The lazy mans" Persian. Exotics have the same "look" and docile personality as Persians with out all the frequent grooming required of the Long hairs. I enjoy working with both breeds and like the fact they can work nicely together in my breeding program. Our goals in our kittens we produce is healthy loving babies with gorgeous big eyes, heavy boning, luxurious full plush coats, wide set tiny ears and very important...we love that short extreme nose yet strive to maintain a sweet wide open expression.

My feelings about breeding and what I have learned along the way....

I work hard to produce healthy solid kittens of today's show standards. I strive for quality rather than quantity and do not over breed my girls or have tons of litters of kittens a year. I am very interested in learning all I can about the health issues that arise in raising PURE bred kittens. I am a part of the Cats Fancier's Health Group and PandEcats online magazine devoted specifically to the health and well being of Persian & Exotic cats. Breeding and Showing is a constant learning experience and I have taken the good with the bad. New breeders interested in starting in the Cat Fancy need to understand upfront that Breeding is a huge commitment, a lot of time, money, and work. However, striving towards a goal while watching these amazing kittens grow and develop is very rewarding on many levels.

Now a little about me...human mom to our little furry friends.

I thank God for my wonderful husband of 15 years! He gets me...well most of the time! :-)

I am a mother of three beautiful children whom I am grateful everyday for. Our kids enjoy all our kitties and do wonders for helping socialize our cats and kittens. I have a wonderful husband who has graciously come to understand and support my passion and love for the Persian and Exotic breed.

I am also a licensed cosmetologist and enjoy many aspects of the art of color and hairstyling. Besides my love and obsession for my beautiful cats, another hobby of mine is decorating. I have put much effort in our previous home and am now working on our new home. We moved to a new home Oct. 2005 and have created a  very cozy birthing room/nursery for moms and their young babies, a spacious boys play room, a grooming room and  play room for older weaned kittens.

WHAT GOES INTO A HIGH QUALITY BREEDING PROGRAM? HOW DO THE KITTIES LIVE? WHERE ARE THEY BORN? HOW DO WE SEPARATE BOYS?

I would like people to understand the tremendous dedication, time, and expense that goes into raising quality pure bred kittens. I spend a lot of time every day cleaning, bathing, and grooming, weighing and charting my kittens growth, preparing home cooked meat meals along with providing only premium high protein holistic dry foods. I have many nights of getting very little to no sleep waiting for babies, hours of sterilizing, preparing formula and hand feeding babies that need nutritional support. I never profit off my kittens, never, I would be lucky to break even. When you add in Vet care, emergencies, c-sections, the costs of traveling and Showing, cattery maintenance and supplies, I have 3 professional dryers, one cost $289.00, another $179.00, I buy blankets, beds and toys as they need to be replaced. I pay for genetic testing, PKD, coat color, anything I deem necessary. Did I mention that quality breeders cost a lot of money too? And there are tremendous losses involved. So you see, there is nothing to profit when you breed for quality and you do it correctly. The joy and satisfaction of handing over a special kitten to their new eager and loving family, the sheer delight on a child's face when they cuddle their new kitten, this is what warms my heart.  :-) This is a hobby, a passion of love and dedication to the breed.

We've done some recent re-modeling in the nursery, grooming room and my boys play room. We added beautiful wood queening crates with curtains for privacy. Our nursery is very comfortable and much like a human babies room.

We have several potty choices for out kitties. We also have created a "feeding center to hold food bowls and water bottles. Almost all of my cats are trained to drink from the bottle and do so happily as the water stays clean and fresh. I appreciate the dry clean manes, especially with my long coat kitties!

Just hanging around the house & sharing a home cooked snack! Missy waits by the door for my boys to get home for school. She also waits and watches them leave in the morning.

The kitties want to be involved in everything were doing, even game playing with the kids!

I have several cats that sleep with my kids and with us.

My pride and Joy! Yes, I do dress them for fun and to stay clean!! What can I say, their living fur babies, works of art and a labor of pure love and dedication.

This is the recreation room which is over 700 square feet. There are windows and beautiful views of the out doors as well as a comfortable sectional for relaxing with the family and did I mention the tons of toys?! We have scratching posts, a floor to ceiling tower for the athletes of the bunch and lots of fun tunnels, balls & cat nip toys.

Our cats and kittens are trained to use a scratching post. I prefer my kittens not be declawed.
